Itinerary

Sesimbra is one of the finest beach resorts in Portugal. The town is adored by the Portuguese who flock to the region for their holidays, drawn by the pristine coastline, social atmosphere and freshly cooked seafood. Aside from the beautiful beaches and delicious food, there is a lot to do within the Sesimbra region. There are hiking/cycling trails through the Serra da Arrabida, surfing on the Costa da Caparica, kayak or boat tours along the dramatic coastline and some of the best diving in Portugal.

Praia da Mijona Beach, also known as Praia do Ilhau Beach, has a stretch of sand considerably long. Here, there are some pebbles and small rocks. The beach is located in a large cove, west protected by a protrusion of the cliff. Next to it, lies a house completely isolated from the world. At east, near the shore, emerges group of rocks. The access is via a trail in a ravine at the west cliff face.

Praia do Inferno Beach, also known as Praia da Tranca Beach, is comprised by several pebbles and boulders of considerable size. It's located in a slightly pronounced cove, south of Azóia village. The seabed is rich in biology and geologic events, attracting scuba diving enthusiasts. It is extremely difficult to access the bottom of the scarp where the beach is, therefore, the best way to get there is via sea.

Praia de Vale Covo Beach, also known as Praia do Vale da Couve Beach, is portrayed by its pebbles and large rocks. Here the main element is the imposing scarps. During high tide the beach gets totally immersed. The access is through the ravine at east, coming from Aldeia Nova da Azóia village and should only be attempted by the most experienced ones. It's best to access it by sea.

You'll experience a kayaking outing along the wild and scenic coast of Serra da Arrábida. The guided canoeing trips include insurance and all the gear, and the experience offers exciting adventures that are open to almost everyone, including families. Kayaking is safe and fun for adults and kids alike and can be practiced in Portugal most of the year-round.

Paddle along the coast and explore little inlets, caves, narrow passages, and rocks until we reach an isolated beach, perfect to relax, go for a swim and have the picnic. After some relaxing time sunbathing or swimming, we paddle back and reach Sesimbra’s beach again.

Praia de Cramesines Beach or Praia de Caramessines Beach, presents a small sand at the bottom of a steep scarp. During high tide, the sand gets all immersed. There are several boulders and rocks in the bathing area coming from previous landslides. The access goes from Rua de Cramesines at Serra da Azóia village, beside the football field of Grupo Desportivo União da Azóia. From here, there's a narrow trail, 300 meters to the beach.
