Itinerary

Fatima Sanctuary

Get picked up from Lisbon and begin your incredible discovery of Portugal's fascinating culture. Begin at Fátima, where you learn about the apparitions of the Virgin Mary that apparently occurred to a group of children in 1917. Discover the devotion to peace and spirituality at the Fátima Sanctuary. Fátima is one of the most important shrines to the Virgin Mary in the world, as three shepherd children are said to have stated that Mary appeared to them. Fátima is second only to Lourdes in France as Europe’s most important pilgrimage site, with a history and culture that will fascinate the religious and nonreligious alike.

Batalha Monastery

Take a scenic drive to the town of Batalha, where you will find the majestic Monastery of Batalha, unique for its crossing of Gothic and Manueline styles. Monastery of Batalha was ordered construction after the Portuguesa won the Spanish in battle and maintained independence, took over 150 years to be concluded and is part of the network of Royal Pantheons and is considered a world heritage site by UNESCO.

Lunch Time

Enjoy a flexible lunch break. This allows you to choose how you'd like to spend your time, whether it's enjoying a meal at a restaurant, having a picnic, or simply taking some time to relax and recharge.

Nazare

Breathe in fresh air atop the Nazaré Cliffs with extraordinary views of the Atlantic Ocean. Learn about the history of this coastal fishing town, a popular summer retreat away from the capital city and about another appearance of Virgin Mary—this one in 1182—and ponder this unique recurrence of divine intervention. The fishing village of Nazaré (the most charismatic fishing village in Portugal), where we can see the fish drought on the beach, as well as the life of the ladies of the "seven skirts" proudly shown on their own. Today Nazaré is also known for its giant waves, but the biggest waves in the world are here in Portugal. All thanks to the phenomenon of the Nazaré Canyon, phenomenal waves that made Nazaré famous all over the world, in 2013 the American surfer McNamara broke the world record when surfing a wave of about 30 meters in height, during the period of the year we can see them with our eyes.

Óbidos

Time to pass one of the most beautiful villages of Portugal, within the walls of a medieval castle. Obidos belonged to the defensive pentagon of the Five Castles, this by the hands of the Templars, later used as a wedding gift of D. Dinis to his wife D. Isabel, the village became part of the House of the Queens. Here we will also go to the discovery of one of the best known and appreciated liquors, Óbidos Ginja. In 2007 the Castle of Óbidos was declared by the contest the Seven Wonders of Portugal the second of the seven most important monuments of the Portuguese architectural heritage. On 11 December 2015, UNESCO considered Óbidos as a literary city as part of the Creative Cities Network program.

Ginjinha Liqueur Tasting

Before your return to Lisbon, taste the famous Ginja, a sour-cherry liqueur, also a local specialty.

"Fatima-Obidos-Nazare-Battalha Tour

This is a great land tour. We got picked up by Rui around 9am at the meeting point at Fenix Lisboa Hotel. 4 couples including me and my wife. Plenty of leg room in his Mercedez van. It is somewhat exclusive. He speaks good English, Spanish and Portuguese. The drive to Fatima on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018 was smooth. We got to Fatima in less than 80 minutes. No traffic. Just in time for the start of the procession at Fatima. Lit some candles. Said some prayers and hanged around for the Sunday Mass outsid. Stayed at Fatima for less than an hour to have time to see the rest of the places. Battalha was closed for entry at that Easter Sunday. But were able to go around for photos. Had a great hour lunch just outside of Fatima. I was surprised at what my money can buy for lunch. Obidos and Nazare was fantasctic. We got to spend time walking around these places and shop and a shot drink of Ginja de Obidos and enjoy the view of the town and visit the local churches there. The view from the hill top of Nazare Beach was awesome. Thank God for selfie sticks. We had a chance to catch a photo of Bruce Willis with his son and girlfriend browsing on one of the street vendors at Nazare. This tour is a great side trip for anyone going to Portugal. We are running at our own pace, specially the lunch hour. Plenty of time to buy souvenirs at Fatima. The Easter mass was kind of long and lots of people gathered standing around the church for the mass. The weather was really nice during this 2018 Easter Weekend. Mostly in the 55-58 Degrees F at night. Around 62 in the day time. We had a great time. Money well spent. I highly recommend going on this tour."

"Wonderful Tour and Guides

Ive been on many tours throughout the world and to date this was the best small group tour Ive taken. Our guides, Antonio and Igor ,were simply amazing. They are friendly, a wealth of knowledge on Portugals history, culture, customs, and sights. They were friendly, enthusiastic had many stories to tell, went out of their way to make sure we were having a good time. They treated us like family. This trip was so much more than the trip to Fatima. Visiting Bathalas beautiful Monastary, seeing the coastal town of Navarre and having a delicious Portuguese Prato do Dia meal next to the beach, seeing the gorgeous cliffs, seeing the gorgeous Portuguese countryside, religious shrines, buying nuts and figs from a woman with seven skirts and visiting the spectacular walled village of Obidos. Having a shot of Ginja , the Portuguese cherry liquor, in an edible dark chocolate shot glass with a cherry, compliments of Go2 Lisbon, was a treat! Do yourself a favor and take this tour for a great overview on Portugal. I hope you will enjoy it as much and we did and learn more about this beautiful country and people."

"Highlight of our time spent in Lisbon

Our Guide Rui was a great host . We were a mix of internationals and each one of us was made to feel very welcome. Rui was entertaining, informative and passionate about his country. He amazed us with his ability to switch between languages and we missed out on nothing. Unfortunately being Kiwis we couldnt convert him from the round ball to the oval ball (All Blacks). Rui is a great asset to his company that he represents. Thank you Rui for an amazing 9 hours."
