Fatima Sanctuary

Get picked up from Lisbon and begin your incredible discovery of Portugal's fascinating culture. Begin at Fátima, where you learn about the apparitions of the Virgin Mary that apparently occurred to a group of children in 1917. Discover the devotion to peace and spirituality at the Fátima Sanctuary. Fátima is one of the most important shrines to the Virgin Mary in the world, as three shepherd children are said to have stated that Mary appeared to them. Fátima is second only to Lourdes in France as Europe’s most important pilgrimage site, with a history and culture that will fascinate the religious and nonreligious alike.

Batalha Monastery
Batalha Monastery

Take a scenic drive to the town of Batalha, where you will find the majestic Monastery of Batalha, unique for its crossing of Gothic and Manueline styles. Nazare
Nazare

Breathe in fresh air atop the Nazaré Cliffs with extraordinary views of the Atlantic Ocean. Learn about the history of this coastal fishing town, a popular summer retreat away from the capital city and about another appearance of Virgin Mary—this one in 1182—and ponder this unique recurrence of divine intervention. The fishing village of Nazaré (the most charismatic fishing village in Portugal), where we can see the fish drought on the beach, as well as the life of the ladies of the "seven skirts" proudly shown on their own. Today Nazaré is also known for its giant waves, but the biggest waves in the world are here in Portugal. All thanks to the phenomenon of the Nazaré Canyon, phenomenal waves that made Nazaré famous all over the world, in 2013 the American surfer McNamara broke the world record when surfing a wave of about 30 meters in height, during the period of the year we can see them with our eyes.

Obidos
Obidos

Time to pass one of the most beautiful villages of Portugal, within the walls of a medieval castle. Obidos belonged to the defensive pentagon of the Five Castles, this by the hands of the Templars, later used as a wedding gift of D. Dinis to his wife D. Isabel, the village became part of the House of the Queens. Here we will also go to the discovery of one of the best known and appreciated liquors, Óbidos Ginja. In 2007 the Castle of Óbidos was declared by the contest the Seven Wonders of Portugal the second of the seven most important monuments of the Portuguese architectural heritage. "Just Amazing

I am so Glad that I took the Go2Lisbon PRIVATE tour. It was one of the best tours I ever took and largely because the sheer professionalism and warmth that the company imbibed through their guide (and now Friend) Antonio Matias. He is just superb! He has vast knowledge on all the places and sights we visited - Cascais, Sintra, Nazareth, Fatima, Batalha ....He is a great human being, took us to some out of the way places to eat and shop and over the two days of b ring with him, he became a Friend. If I go back to Lisbon it will be for him and the company Go2Lisbon."

"Best Tour

Great choice in our decision as Antonio is Heaven sent. He was on time , very informative , courteous & helpful. His English is perfect . It was a private tour for 4 of us . The car was a 7 seater Mercedes , pretty new & very clean. The online booking was easy & safe & Confirmation was immediate after payment . For the lunch break in Bataltha, Antonio recommended a very nice restaurant where we enjoyed good fish & wine. Antonio was always eager to show us as much as he could , never rushing us from one place to another. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with him .He is definitely the best guide we have ever had, in fact too good for this job; he could speak 4 languages fluently. I highly recommend Go2Lisbon tours & hope you will be lucky enough to get Antonio . Obrigada ."

"Great Guide

Just did two private tours with Go2Lisbon, one to Evora and the other two Fatima-Batalha-Nazare-Obidos. Whilst I was not impressed that we had to pay for a private tour when the company's website advertises a minimum of two for a group tour, and we were two; I was pleased to pay the private tour price because we had an AWESOME guide, Louis. Louis gets 5 stars, (the company 4 stars). Louis has an incredible knowledge of Portugal and its history. He is a very proud Portuguese man and is happy to answer any questions you may have about Portugal and the places visited on the tour. Louis has a beautiful voice too and he sang Fado to us after lunch, on both days. We did not feel as though Louis was a tour guide, we more felt we were seeing Portugal with a friend. If you book a tour with Go2Lisbon, and they do have very good itineraries, ask if you can have Louis as a guide. The company is also very good in that they will pick you up at your hotel/apartment in Lisbon.....an absolute bonus. I would recommend Go2Lisbon to fellow travellers."
