Christmas arrived in Sintra, on 1st December 2019 the Historic Village of Sintra became a real Christmas Kingdom, and will remain until January 6th, Kings Day. This is a reference event, as well as a solidarity event that attracts thousands of visitors annually.

The Kingdom of Santa Claus definitely settled in Sintra. And as all visitors deserve the best, this year, the Christmas Kingdom is extended from Liberty Park to Terreiro Rainha Dona Amélia. Visitors can record in a TV studio at the News Museum, ice skate, visit the Christmas Market and enjoy the extensive entertainment that is right next to Sintra National Palace.

Sintra has an idyllic setting of the Cultural Landscape of Humanity, the buildings and streets, and a giant Christmas tree located in the Terreiro of Sintra National Palace.

Prior to Santa’s arrival in this magnificent kingdom of Natal, there was a solidarity parade of Father Christmas Motards, departing at the Queluz National Palace and arriving at Freedom Park.

All the Christmas lights that are part of the magic in this unique scenery of the Cultural Landscape of Humanity were turned on by the Mayor of Sintra, Basilio Horta, who was present for the opening of the festivities, around 5 pm, marking that Christmas arrived in Sintra.

This year, without a doubt, Sintra is the true place for the Christmas spirit to be felt, and everyone is committed to making this season a true and unforgettable magic.
