1st stop in the Eduardo VII Park, is the largest park in central Lisbon. It was baptized in 1903 in honor of Edward VII, monarch of the United Kingdom.
Then, we drive through Main Avenue of Lisbon (Liberty avenue), through main square Rossio we going to visit Lisbon Cathedral (Sé de Lisboa), is a Roman Catholic parish church, oldest church in the City.
Next we going to visit the best viewpoint of Lisbon. It offers a fantastic view of the neighborhood of Gracia St. George´s Castle, Baixa and the entire northern part of the city.
Next we going to visit the Santa Justa Lift (Elevador de Santa Justa), also called Carmo Lift (Elevador do Carmo). The highest platform offers excellent views of the historic center of the city, especially in the ruins of the Carmelite Church (Igreja do Carmo).
Next we going to visit Belem district, will stop at famous factory Pasteis de Belem, also known as pasteis de nata.
A little futher on Tagus river from the water rises up the Tower of Belem with very intricate architecture - perhaps the most perfect example of Manueline style an one of the most famous simbols of Lisbon
Last, is Monument of Discoveries is a monument on the northern margin of the Tagus River. Located along the river were ships departed to explore and trade with India and Orient, the monument celebrates the Portuguese Age of Discovery (or Age of Exploration) during the 15th and 16th centuries.
In front of monument on the floor is a big Wind Rose (Rosa-dos-Ventos), you can get better view from the top of Monument.
Before heading to your hotel, if we´ll have enough time, we will cross the Tagus river by the 25 April Bridge (1st Bridge of Lisbon), to see the Lisbon from a different angle.
Jeronimos Monastery, is the most impressive symbol of Portuguese power and wealth during the Age of Discoveries. King Manuel I built it in 1502 on the site of a hermitage founded by Prince Henry the Navigator, where Vasco da Gama and his crew spent their last night in Portugal in prayer before leaving to India. World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
